In recent decades, climate changes have caused impacts on natural and human systems on all continents and across the oceans. Impacts are due to observed climate change, irrespective of its cause, indicating the sensitivity of natural and human systems to changing climate. This research was carried out in the Tajan watershed, Iran through the following steps: (i) determining and selecting the most important factors affecting the flood as independent variables; (ii) selecting and collecting the historical flood points as a dependent variable; (iii) preparing land-use map over the two studied periods; (iv) preparing rainfall layer of the study site over the two periods; (v) determining flood risk areas in the two studied periods; (vi) statistically analyzing vulnerability in flood-exposed areas; and (vii) prioritizing the sub-watersheds of the study area in terms of flood vulnerability. The areas of flood probability were determined by the random forest (RF) and K-nearest neighbor (KNN) machine learning methods. The vulnerability was assessed only in areas with very high flood risk using four main criteria (social, policy, economic, structure) across 40 villages.
